NIKOS LIAPIS MECHANICAL ENGINEER OF NTUA Dr. Nikos Liapis is a Mechanical Engineer of NTUA, and has been working at ELINOIL SA since 1994. He held various positions in the company. Since 2005 he is Operating Manager. Its main areas of responsibility include the supply, storage and handling of liquid fuels and lubricants and the operation of the company's storage facilities and tankers. He is the coordinator of the Biofuel Committee of the Greek Petroleum Trading Association (SEEPE) and member of the Distribution, Storage and Hygiene and Safety Committees. He was representative of the European BIODIESEL BOARD in Greece, chairman of the Biofuel Technology Platform and member of the Committee on the Energy Development Strategy of the Ministry of Rural Development. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Short sea Shipowners Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology (H.I.M.T.) and member of the Lloyd's Hellenic Technical Committee. He has elaborated his doctoral thesis at the School of Chemical Engineering of the NTUA with the subject of Total Quality Management of the Fuel Supply Chain. He has presented issues on fuel, biofuels and shipping at several conferences and has participated in research programs and publications.
